SYMPOSIUM in memory of FRANÇOIS JAEGER

The members of the Discrete Mathematics community of the Leibniz Laboratory in Grenoble wish to honor the memory of their colleague and friend François Jaeger (1947-1997) with a symposium that will take place from August 31 to September 4, 1998, at the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble.

There will be only invited lectures. These will last from 20 to 60 minutes according to the speakers' wishes. Sessions of posters will be organized as well as working sessions. The topics of the symposium will cover Francois Jaeger's diverse fields of interest : Graph Theory, Knot Theory, Matroid Theory, Algebraic Combinatorics, Statistical Mechanics, etc. The following speakers have agreed to give a talk:

Eiichi BANNAI Pierre de la HARPE Horst SACHS
Claude BERGE Marie-Claude HEYDEMANN Attila SALI

Besides the usual international circulation of the journal, the volume will also be available separately.

We thank all the participants in this meeting.
